This is a great growing medium for hydroponic carrots, onions, radish and other tubular and bulb type plants that need a 12-inch depth for proper growth. For hydroponic applications, mix it with perlite at a ratio of one part vermiculite to four parts perlite. Actual item is finer than pictured.
